William "Bill" Miller Sr. Obituary

William “Bill” T. Miller Sr., age 87 of Turtle Creek and Beatty Point, was reunited with Doretha “Dottie”, his beloved wife of 63 years, on Sunday, February 21, 2021 after nearly five years apart.  He was also preceded in death by his parents, Alma “Ruth” Martin and Charles L. Miller Sr., his oldest son, William T. Miller Jr., and his youngest brother Gerald (Kathleen) Miller.  A loving father, grandpa “Pap”, and Great-Pappy, he is survived by his youngest son Richard (Mariann) Miller Sr., brother Charles L. (Carol) Miller Jr., grandchildren Katie Miller and Richard (Julianne) Miller, Jr., and great-granddaughters Rose, Violet, and Iris Miller, along with several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Born July 29, 1933 in Somerset, PA, Bill’s family moved to the then brand new Green & White Defense Homes in October of 1941.  He graduated from Turtle Creek High School and met his soul mate, Dottie Harper, both life-long members of Electric Heights Methodist Church.  They married in 1952 and enjoyed traveling together to Florida and the Southwest, bowling, and rifle and trap shooting.  Bill was an avid golfer, poker player, hunter, reader of old Western novels, and accordion player.  He was a proud 50 year member and Past Master of Valley Lodge 613. He was also a member of Bushy Run Royal Arch Chapter 192 and Tall Cedars . He was a brakes and alignment specialist for B.F. Goodrich for 35 years.  During his retirement, he enjoyed working at Fiola’s for several years more. Friends will be received on Wednesday, February 24, 3-7:30 PM. A Masonic Service and Funeral Service will follow at 7:30 PM at the Jobe Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., corner of Shaw and Tri-Boro Avenues, Turtle Creek, 412-823-1950.  Per CDC guidelines, masks are required upon entry and social distancing will be observed. A private Committal service will take place on Saturday, March 6 in Churchill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Electric Heights Methodist Church, 601 James Street, Turtle Creek, PA 15145.
