William A. Shirer

Age 94 of Murrysville, formerly of Wilmerding, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023. He was born on July 5, 1928 to the late Dwight and Gertrude (Schake) Shirer. William is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline (Brian) Shirer-Hanes; grandchildren, Kyle & Erin Hanes; and brother, Paul (Bonnie) Shirer; also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances M. Shirer and by his sisters, Eleanor McWilliams and Ruth Popovich. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, 3-7 pm at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747), where a funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery.
