Robert (Bob) Edward Delo
age 96, passed peacefully on January 19th, 2023 and welcomed by Jesus. Bob was born on April 17th, 1926 to his late mother, Henrietta (Sinclair) and father, Robert O. Delo in Verona. Bob is survived by their three children Karen (Patrick) Shields of Export, Kenneth (Donna) Delo of Apollo, and Kristine (Rick) Carretta of Virginia Beach; 5 grandchildren, Kelly Shields, Erin (Jeff) Swartz, Kenneth (Brittany) Delo, Mark Delo, and Rikki Carretta; 8 great-grandchildren Logan, Bella, Addi and Keegan Swartz and Jasmine, Caliope, Makenna, & Amelia Delo. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Rita F. Delo and brothers, Raymond, William and Frank Delo. Bob’s first job was with Cardarelli Construction as a skilled heavy machine operator. One project was building the Rosedale home plan in Verona, PA and where he met the love of his life, the late Rita Delo. Bob continued to develop his skillset as an operator and retired from Casper Colosimo & Son, Inc in 1991. Bob and Rita were inseparable and their love overflowed to their family and friends. Together they built 3 log homes and a life legacy with their family. Bob loved being outdoors - enjoying working with his hands and hunting, but also feeding every type of animal. Bob’s passion was music that he inherited through his Mom. Bob played guitar in several bands including ‘Slim and the Midnight Runners’ receiving some radio time on WKPA New Kensington, ‘Sammy Pugliano’s Orchestra’, and most recently the ‘Over the Hill Gang’ at Plum Senior Center. A sweet soul, Bob also loved to spend time with family and friends - telling stories, listening, giving amazing hugs, and always lending support and encouragement. Bob and Rita always signed off on their cards with 'All Our Love, All Our Life' -- your family is forever grateful and blessed by your love Dad, Pappap & Pappy, till we meet again. Friends will be received Sunday, January 22, 2023, 2-5 PM at Bash-Nied-Jobe Funeral Home, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont (724-468-8381).
