Philomena "Minnie" (Bruno) Scanga

Philomena "Minnie" (Bruno) Scanga, age 95, of Zelienople, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Louis Charles Scanga, Sr; loving mother of Rosemary (Don) Gregg, Susanne (Buddy) Hobart, Anita Gardner, Louis (Maria) Scanga Jr and the late Ralph Scanga; cherished grandmother of Ryan (Christie) Petri, Jason Petri, Justin (Kim) Petri, Jeffrey (Phoebe) Scanga, Jamie (Evan) Salas, Sara and Emily Gardner and Kenley Scanga; beloved great-grandmother of Isabella, Elise and Ryan Petri, Kayla Valerino, Nicolette Petri, Kara Salas, Maya Gardner and the late Angelique Petri. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Bruno and Mary Theresa (Greco) Bruno; four sisters and six brothers. Minnie graduated from Shadyside Hospital of Nursing on her 60th birthday and worked as a Registered Nurse at Shadyside Hospital and later worked at Passavant Nursing Home until she retired at the age of 85. She was also the past president of the VFW Auxiliary 278 in Bloomfield. Minnie loved caring for people and loved cooking to bring them food. Friends will be received from 1 - 7 PM on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC., 118 Shaw Avenue, Turtle Creek (412-823-1950), where a funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, July 7, 2022. Entombment will follow at Christ Our Redeemer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Church of Harmony at 538 Main Street #7222, Harmony, PA 16037, Eighth Avenue Place at 908 Ann Street, Homestead, PA 15120 or to a charity of your choice in Minnie's memory. The family would like to thank the staff of Ohio Health Hospice, Bridges Hospice, Lisa Moore and Sharon Crowley for their compassionate care of their mother.
