Nima Marie (Kaufman) Heagy, 92, of Delmont, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 9, 2021, at her home. She was born Nov. 11, 1928, in Pierce, PA, to the late Rev. Martin and Dora (Saylor) Kaufman. Nima ended her professional life as an administrative secretary at the University of Pittsburgh. She was raised in a devout Christian home and shared her faith with her children. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church since 1964, and she spent 84 of her years as a member of a church choir. She was always quick to help others in need and never said no to anyone who came to her for help. She will be remembered for her quick wit, unconditional love, wonderful sense of humor, and her selflessness. She was a Scout leader and Sunday school teacher for many years. She enjoyed playing the piano, bowling, reading, newspaper puzzles and her coffee. Nima will be remembered most for her love of her family and her famous apple pie and potato salad. Nima is survived by her children, Donald L. Heagy, Jr. of Delmont, Elizabeth A. (Oakley) Moser of Sarver, Rev. Dr. Douglas M. (Barbara) Heagy of Mt. Lebanon, and Mark W. Heagy of Prince Frederick, MD; grandchildren, Oakley (Molly) Moser, Jr. of Mercer, Dylan (Chesley) Heagy of Ruffsdale, Emma (Mark) Silvis of Pittsburgh, Hannah (Jake) Morrison of Pittsburgh, Jonathan Heagy of Eugene, OR, Thomas Heagy of Pittsburgh, and Rachael and Matthew Heagy of Prince Frederick, MD; great-grandchildren, Luca Chiusano, Kaia and George Heagy and Mina Moser; sister, MaryBelle Newcome of Brookville; and daughters-in-law, Dianne Barnard of Greensburg and Janet Heagy of Chesapeake Beach, MD. She is also survived by her close friends and caregivers, Dianne Hartman and Donna Mitinger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Lee Heagy; brothers, Kenneth, Martin and Daniel Kaufman; and granddaughter, Jennifer Moser Chiusano. Friends will be received from 9:30-10:30 AM on Monday at Bash-Nied-Jobe Funeral Home, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont (724-468-8381). Per CDC guidelines, masks will be required, and social distancing will be observed. A private funeral service will be held at Salem Lutheran Church, with Rev. Kara Propst, officiating.
