Mari-Anne Lerza Obituary

Age 73 of Salem Twp., formerly of Johnson City, TN, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Anthony Samuel Lerza. Loving mother of Anthony (Kelli) Lerza, Philip (Jaime) Lerza, Eva (Ryan) Hathaway, Mary Jane (Robert) Schweitzer, and Lauren (Mike) Lewis. Cherished grandmother to Wolfgang Schweitzer, Gabriel Schweitzer, Scarlett Schweitzer, Dominica Lerza, Mara Lerza, and Bethany Lewis; and great-grandmother to Finleigh Renick. Also survived by her brother, Brian (Brenda) Hale; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Lillian (Brockwell) Hale; brother, Ronald Hale; and sister, Jane Mitchell. Mari-Anne worked as a waitress at the Pittsburgh Field Club and went on to work as the manager at the VFW Post #92 in Lower Burrell. Most recently she worked in security at Longwood at Oakmont, retiring after 10 years of service. She really enjoyed being able to interact with the residents at Longwood and became close with so many of them. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and in her free time she loved to be outdoors gardening and was also an avid reader. Above all, she was the caregiver to her family. Services will be private and arrangements are entrusted to the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2835 E. Carson St., Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15203. www.jobefuneralhome.com.
