Obituary

Frederick William Quast passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him on Friday, September 15, 2023. He was born October 20, 1937 in Garfield. Fred was preceded in death by parents Mary Elizabeth and Herman Quast; wife, Nancy Jones Quast; and five siblings. He is survived by a daughter, Heidi Kenzevich (late Andrew III); a son, Kevin Quast (Miriam); grandchildren, Zachary and Jacob Quast, Julia, Katie, Andrew IV and Heather Kenzevich; sisters, Betty Sprague and Rita Streeter; many nieces and nephews; and close friend, George Maguire, who will all miss him dearly. He will also be missed by his Union Presbyterian Church family and the senior groups that he spent much time with. Fred served three years in the Army, and was owner of Challenge Exterminators from 1959-1999. He had a love for airplanes, Jeeps, and was an avid hunter. He was very active in the Triangle Four Wheelers club for decades. There will be no viewing. A celebratory memorial service will be held at a later date.
