Cheryl Ann (Rizzo) Bertoty

Cheryl Ann (Rizzo) Bertoty, 65 of Irwin, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022. She was born in Pittsburgh on July 3, 1956, to the late John and Verna Rizzo.
 
Cheryl is survived by her beloved husband, Richard; children, Marcin (Makala) Bertoty, Sandra (Pete Wearing) Bertoty, and David (Kahla) Bertoty; granddaughter, Layonna Bertoty; sisters, Vicki (John Klavon) Reinheimer and Barb (Rich Heaps) Rosol; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Cheryl battled breast cancer for 10+ years and was a true warrior. She braved many procedures and continued to live fully, traveling with her husband Rich to places like Dollywood, caring for her granddaughter Layonna, and spending time with those she loved. She maintained her positive attitude and strength throughout her journey.

Cheryl poured her heart into every task she tackled, which was many. Cheryl was an avid volunteer and dedicated many years to the Girl Scouts. She also started a non-profit baton twirling corp, The Marvellette Stars, and was involved with the corp for 13 years. With every venture Cheryl undertook, she touched many lives and made a lasting impact on all she encountered.

Cheryl was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends. She was always full of adventure, fun, and care towards the children in her family and beyond. Cheryl and her husband Rich were overjoyed and blessed by their three children, Marcin, Sandra, and David, and granddaughter, Layonna. Cheryl always had a smile on her face and knew how to make anyone laugh. Her memories will be cherished by all who knew and loved Cheryl.
 
Friends will be received Thursday, June 23, 2022, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Lindsay-Jobe Funeral Home, Inc., 3343 Route 130, Harrison City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 24, 2022, 11:00 am at St. Barbara Catholic Church, Harrison City. We will meet at church.
