Anne (Simpson) Merlino
Age 91, of Houston, TX, formerly of Monroeville, PA died peacefully on Tuesday November 22, 2022.  Anne was preceded in death by her husband, James, her brothers, John Simpson and Alex Simpson.  Loving mother of Charles Merlino of Lake City, PA., James (Ann) Merlino of Holland, MI., Dennis (Kellie) Merlino of Fulton, NY., Stephen (Becky) Merlino of Houston, TX., John Merlino of Verona, PA., Ted (Janet) Merlino of Irwin, PA; also 15 grandchildren, Abby Merlino, Stephen (Abby) Merlino, Michael (Jen) Merlino, Joy Merlino, Daniel, Nicholas and Anthony Merlino, Sarah (Joe) Burns, Timothy (Molly) Merlino, Aaron (Lauren) Merlino, Leah (Josh) Prince, Matthew (Tori) Merlino, Mark (Mariah) Merlino, Will and Alex Merlino and 8 great-grandchildren.
Anne worked for Gateway School District and was a bus aide for the School for the Blind into her 70’s. She loved to spend her summers in Pennsylvania and Michigan visiting family and enjoying special moments with her grandchildren.  Family gatherings as well as Sunday family dinners were one of the joys of her life and she loved baking cookies. Everyone waited for the essence of her fresh pizzelles to fill the air. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and also enjoyed spending quiet moments reading. She loved being around people and made friends everywhere she went.
Friends received Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 2 to 6 PM at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC., (Monroeville/Plum Chapel) 445 Beatty Rd., Monroeville (412-856-4747) Services will be Monday, December 5, 2022, 10:30 AM at Hillcrest Presbyterian Church in Monroeville. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hillcrest Presbyterian Church. www.jobefuneralhome.com.
