Jean L. Sommer

Age 93, of Monroeville, PA, passed peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, March 28, 2024.  Loving Aunt to Peggy (John) Roche, Nancy (the late Carl) Barnhart, Laura (Scott) Kareis, and Ruthanne (the late Tom) Corbin; Jean is also survived by several grand nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Faymie Sommer; Three Sisters, Laura Marie Sommer, Mildred (James) Keaton, Faymie (Harry) Dawkins; Niece, Karen (Joe) Blicher; Nephew, Harry (Carol) Dawkins. Jean worked at Westinghouse until she retired in 1988. She was active in Alpha Lutheran Church in Turtle Creek, and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church until her later years. Jean enjoyed bowling, riding horses, and ice skating. She had an extreme love of all animals. Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC., 118 Shaw Avenue, Turtle Creek (412-823-1950), where a funeral service will be held immediately following at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park.
